This new-old-stock M6 TTL from the Japanese market features matching documentation and original packaging.
Exceptional opportunity to acquire a virtually unused Leica M6 TTL in mint condition with 0.72x viewfinder magnification. This version of the legendary M6 series (1998-2002) features through-the-lens (TTL) flash metering capability and enhanced electronics not found in the original M6. This camera was discovered as new-old-stock from a Japanese dealer, having been used lightly before careful storage. Complete with original packaging, documentation, and matching serial numbers throughout. Professionally inspected and verified by authorized Leica dealer with perfect functionality confirmed.
For nearly fifteen years, the M6 served as Leica's flagship, beloved by photojournalists and street photographers for its whisper-quiet operation and exceptional build quality. The M6 TTL, produced from 1998-2002, represented the final evolution of this iconic platform, adding sophisticated through-the-lens flash metering to complement the proven ambient light metering system. This enhancement made the camera significantly more versatile for professional work requiring flash, while maintaining the purely mechanical shutter operation that distinguished Leica from increasingly electronic competitors. The M6 TTL's brief four-year production run coincided with the twilight of film photography's dominance. The M6 would be succeeded by the M7 and MP platforms briefly before the introduction of digital M bodies with the M8.
No modifications have been made to this camera. All components remain in original factory specification.
No condition issues are present. The camera exhibits mint condition throughout with no signs of wear or use beyond initial testing. Light meter and shutter operate with factory precision.
This M6 TTL has had minimal ownership chain since leaving the factory. Current owner acquired in March 2024 from a Japanese dealer who had kept it in back-room storage rather than display. Serial numbers on camera, box, and original sales record all match.
