Leica's pre-M cameras, including the revolutionary Ur-Leica of 1914 and the subsequent screw-mount LTM series, laid the foundation for 35mm photography. These early rangefinders, particularly the III series produced from 1933-1960, feature interchangeable lenses via the 39mm LTM mount, separate viewfinder and rangefinder windows, and fully mechanical operation.
